Why Teacher Tesources Rule

Everyone knows how much teachers work, that is a given. The question really is “When do teachers rest?”

If you have ever given any-thought to the answer to this, like when it is Sunday afternoon and you are just beginning to correct the spelling tests so you can enter them into your gradebook, you know the answer.

Teachers rarely, if ever rest or indeed do much of anything for themselves. Personally, I have fallen asleep at traffic lights waiting for the light to change on the way home from school.

That’s the biggest reason I started this site, as a way for teachers to refresh themselves in the mornings before they go to school or in the afternoon when they come back home again. I found out it was not enough to just tell people they needed to rest because their brains never stopped long enough to rest.

So every schoolday morning (unless you are on the other side of the world from the US) I send an email in the voice of the Universe reminding the folks who read it just how valuable they are. And to help give them a pause in their day to just plain take a breath and remember who they really are.

Incredible, joy-filled hearts of energy sailing through the world changing other peoples’ lives.

That is the definition of a teacher.
